Summer Tastings

JULY - VIVE LA FRANCE!

JULY 7 - FRENCH FINDS under $30 w/ Puget Street Imports
We've rounded up four French favorites under $30 to kick off our July tasting series! From crisp Crémant to sunny southern reds, there's a little something for everyone.

JULY 14 - Bastille Day!
5 - 8pm | $15/ 5 tastes
Come party with us at our very first Bastille Day celebration! We'll have nine French wines open to taste, special pours by the glass, Chris on the grill, and plenty of delicious things to eat and drink.
Reservations recommended but we'll have space for walk-ins too!

JULY 21 - MARCEL DEISS, Alsace
Jean-Michel Deiss has long been one of Alsace's great trailblazers. Inspired by the region's historic field blends, he challenged the modern convention of bottling single-variety wines, believing that co-planted vineyards better express the unique terroir of Alsace. Come discover a different side of this iconic region.

JULY 28 - LOIRE VALLEY w/ PrufRock Imports
Can't make Chris' Loire Valley class? Come explore the wines of France's most diverse and fascinating wine region! We'll be pouring a stellar lineup featuring Philippe Tessier, Muscadet icon Domaine Luneau-Papin, and more.

AUGUST - WASHINGTON vs THE WORLD

We're shaking things up this August and putting our home state to the test!

Ever wondered how Washington Syrah stacks up against the classics of France's Northern RhĂ´ne? Or maybe you want to know if Riesling really can hold its own against those German classics we know and love?

We'll be tasting them side by side all month long—come decide for yourself!

WINE CLASSES

Mondays, 6:00 pm

We believe wine should be for everyone—any occasion, any meal, any day of the week. It has a way of bringing people together, sparking conversation, evoking memories, and becoming part of our shared culture. And we love sharing that!

But let’s be honest—learning about wine can feel intimidating. That’s why we’re all about breaking down barriers and making wine education approachable, engaging, and free of the usual pretension.

With backgrounds in education, our in-house sommeliers lead classes at Walter’s Wine Shop, guiding tastings around our communal black walnut table. Sessions typically explore wine regions, grape varieties, and styles, but don’t be surprised if we dive into coffee, sake, beer, or whatever else catches our interest!

Classes are ticketed and last roughly 1 hour.

QUESTIONS? We've got answers.

Do I need a reservation to taste on Tuesdays?

Nope! Our Tuesday tastings are drop in, so come on in any time after 5pm, and we'll get you set up. Our winemakers and other winery representatives are present from 5-7pm, so if you'd like to meet them, plan to arrive earlier in the evening.

If you want to bring a group for tasting and dinner and would like to make a reservation, you can do so through our wine bar Upwell.

What does my wine class ticket cost cover?

Tickets for Monday wine classes are $40, which includes a $20 credit toward a retail bottle from Walter's.

The remaining ticket cost covers wines poured for the class plus teaching materials.

Are food and wine available during wine classes?

Our classes are seated with a presentation by our somms and a guided tasting. During this time, we do not offer food or glasses of wine.

If you'd like to join us for dinner ahead of a class, please arrive before 4:30pm as the kitchen closes at 4:45pm on class nights. You can see our current Monday night menu here.

Are food and wine available during Tuesday Tastings?

Yes! Our full dinner menu is available on Tuesdays from 3pm to 10pm. Visit our Upwell site to see current menus & make reservations or check our wait time.

If you just want to taste and shop, we have space available for that as well!
