Spring 2026 Classes
No. 29: April 20, Biodynamic and Sustainable Viticulture
April is Earth month so what better time to dive into something we get asked about all the time - what exactly is Biodynamic farming and what is its place in the landscape of sustainable viticulture??
Chris will be taking us on an exploration of what this unique farming method is all about and its impact on wine quality.
No. 30: May 18, OREGON w/ guest teacher Chad Stock
For our 30th class, we're welcoming our very first guest teacher, Chad Stock!
Chad has been shaping the Oregon wine scene since 2006, beginning as the winemaker at Antica Terra in the Eola-Amity Hills with Maggie Harrison, then moving to Johan Vineyards where he grafted new varieties onto Pinot Noir vines in 2009 - a turning point for varietal diversity in the region. Chad launched his own project in 2011 focused on alternative grape varieties and styles in the Willamette Valley [Minimus] and later went on to work with David Hill’s historic vineyards and exploring a different side of Willamette wines through Limited Addition, a wine label he makes with his partner Bree.
In this class, Chad will guide us through a tasting of Oregon wines while exploring climate, organic farming, and the future of what can thrive in the Willamette Valley.
No. 31: June 22, A Tour of the Unexpected: Lesser-Known Grapes
While we all know and love Sauvignon Blanc, fine wine can be made from a wide spectrum of grapes native to lesser-known regions around the world. We regularly try to feature one or two on our by the glass program, but this class will be an opportunity to taste a collection of new experiences, many of which will surprise you with their approachability, even if the names are challenging.
A chance to step outside the familiar, this class highlights the diversity of grapes that quietly shape the wine world beyond the usual headliners — and why these lesser-known varieties are becoming increasingly important as regions evolve and new possibilities emerge.
