Some Champagne houses inherit centuries of tradition.
Bruno Paillard began with an idea.
After years working as a Champagne broker—tasting wines from growers across the region and learning every corner of Champagne—Bruno Paillard founded his own house in 1981 with a singular vision: to craft Champagne that reflected place before prestige. At the time, it was the first new Champagne house to be founded in nearly a century.
Rather than chasing a rigid "house style," Bruno Paillard focused on thoughtful blending, extensive aging, and an unwavering commitment to transparency, allowing each cuvée to speak clearly of both vintage and terroir.
That philosophy led to practices that are now commonplace throughout Champagne. Bruno Paillard was the first Champagne house to print disgorgement dates on every bottle, embraced unusually long cellar aging before release, and maintains an exceptional library of reserve wines to build complexity while preserving the character of each vineyard and harvest.
Join us as we welcome Jean-Pierre Peyrat, Bruno Paillard's passionate (and wonderfully nerdy) National Sales Manager, as we discover how blending, patience, and meticulous winemaking come together to create some of Champagne's most elegant and expressive wines. Along the way, we'll taste six Champagnes from this iconic house while unpacking why reserve wines matter, what disgorgement actually tells us, and how one of Champagne's youngest houses earned a place among its most respected.
Whether you're just beginning your Champagne journey or already have a soft spot for grower bottlings and vintage cuvées, this is an evening to taste beyond the bubbles and into what makes Champagne truly great.
