Domaine Miolanne
Domaine Miolanne is based just outside Clermont-Ferrand, one of the oldest cities in France, where vines have been grown for at least 1,500 years. The vineyards sit among ancient, long-dormant volcanoes, and the volcanic soils here are said to give these wines a pretty distinctive edge. Odette and Gilles Miolanne planted their first vines in 1994 — mostly Pinot Noir with a little Gamay — and farm about 17 hectares at the southern end of the appellation.
Tech info on this wine is… surprisingly hard to come by, and we haven’t opened our bottle yet (restraint! growth!), but the early word is spicy red fruit, freshness, and a little herby lift. More to come once we’ve done our due diligence in the tasting department. 😉
We love it with… We'll let you know!
