Lady of the Sunshine Nero d'Avola - Pinot Noir
Lady of the Sunshine Nero d'Avola - Pinot Noir
Lady of the Sunshine
Gina makes this wine as an homage to the best parts of California - the foggy Central Coast (her home now) & the continental Sierra Nevadas (where she was riased). It's also a bit of her own spin on Sicilian blends like Frappato and Nero d'Avola. Huckleberry, dark cherry, and black plum, with smooth tannins, subtle spice, and a fresh, mineral finish.
We love it with… Wood-fired pizza, grilled octopus, braised lamb w/ mint gremolata
Type: Red
Vintage: 2024
Size: 750mL

Vinification: The Pinot Noir comes from a hillside block at the Bassi Vineyard and the Nero d'Avola comes from a young, head trained vineyard in the Sierra Foothills, named Peeps Vineyard. The wine fermented with native yeast in 1 ton boxes with 50% whole cluster; pressed at dryness in a wooden basket press and then aged in old French oak barrels. Racked for the first time to blend and bottle, without fining or filtration, with minimal sulfur used.
