Château de Minière is a 29-hectare organically farmed estate in the Loire Valley, originally established in the 15th century as a fortified farm before evolving into a mansion and later a château. Local lore even suggests it inspired Charles Perrault’s vision of the castle in Sleeping Beauty. There’s a strong feminine lineage here that continues today under the ownership and direction of Kathleen Van den Berghe. Kathleen and her family are deeply committed to organic farming, low-intervention winemaking, and a broader lifestyle that prioritizes sustainability and respect for place. Their focus is singular: Cabernet Franc, made in a way that reflects the diversity of their sites rather than a single house style. The goal is transparency — wines that speak clearly of Loire Valley fruit, structure, and freshness.
