Salvatore Marino 'Turi' Orange
Salvatore Marino 'Turi' Orange
Salvatore Marino
Salvatore Marino is the latest star winemaker in Sicily. Born into a family of winemakers focused on bulk wine production, Marino dreamed of starting a project of his own. He learned to make wines with his father but found those wines didn't show the soul of Sicily so he set out to find his own way, studying around the world before settling back on the island. We have an ongoing debate here as to whether this qualifies as orange wine [Chris says yes, but Jess thinks it's more skin contact white]. In any case, it's delicious, refreshing and a great intro to the style! Sea salt, tangerine, and hints of white flowers on the nose with vibrant tangerine on the palate. A bit reminiscent of adult Sunny D in the best way.
