Ana Maria Cumsille 'El Litre' Cinsault

Chile is often associated with inexpensive grocery-store wine, but it’s actually a country full of stunning wine regions producing bottles with real elegance and freshness. This Cinsault comes from Itata — not only fun to say, but one of the most exciting regions in Chile right now. Located south of more famous areas like Maule, the Itata Valley sits between the Pacific Ocean and the Coastal Range, giving it an overall cool, maritime-influenced climate. Ana María is based in Santiago but has chosen to work in Itata for its quality potential. She focuses on Cinsault, a grape that can show a beautiful mix of dark citrus (think blood orange and grapefruit) alongside a heady floral perfume of hibiscus and rose.
