The wasp on the label always throws people—but here’s the thing: winemaker Jim Prosser is anaphylactically allergic to wasps and hornets, and he’s racked up more ICU hours than anyone should while making wine around the globe. Somehow, he keeps going, and somehow, the wine keeps being amazing. This “rosé” is really its own thing—somewhere between rosé and red, but with more structure than either. It kind of reminds us of red currants and pisco sours: bright, tangy, a little unexpected, and totally drinkable.
We love it with… salmon, creamy cheeses, lobster bisque
